more than a bike ride.
Today I did something pretty crazy. The Irish Pub Tour de Shore… a 65 mile bike ride from Philadelphia to Atlantic City.
My uncle told me about this event, since he did it last year. We both signed up for this one, in the anticipation that we’d do it together. It didn’t quite work out that way… my uncle did not feel he had trained sufficiently since he lately has been...

Safe to say I very often dream small.
That is, if I dared to dream at all.
I grew up with the assumption that practicality reigned.
Idealism hid under the security that I feigned.
An obstacle appears at the first turn.
It was never going to be easy…when will I learn?
But the spark is there; an ember of hope glows.

How do those ...

XPN Xponential Music Festival Recap!
I certainly could be (and probably should be) sleeping right now. However, I’d much rather craft a post about the wonderful music I heard today!
Today was Day 2 of the XPN Xponential Music Festival, taking place on the Camden waterfront. (Day 1 for me). Didn’t arrive until around 2 PM, but I did get to hear some fabulous acts that I really wasn’t familiar with.
The acts I got...

Love.
I dare say there is something that is altogether exhilarating, frightening, and eye-opening about reading things you wrote in the past (in this case, about 8 years ago).
When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no...

I was thinking this morning about how so often we want to trust the words of others more than our own. We feel something… positive or negative, or good or bad, what have you… and we seek out a song, a statement, a poem… something to echo and affirm it. It’s as though we question if what we are feeling is real at all unless someone apart from us felt it first.
